It measures the excess return earned by a portfolio relative to its benchmark, divided by the tracking error (the standard deviation of the portfolio's excess return). A higher Information ratio indicates that the portfolio is outperforming its benchmark on a risk-adjusted basis.

💥Other methods of measuring risk-adjusted return include the Sortino ratio, which focuses on downside risk rather than total risk, and the Omega ratio, which considers both the magnitude and frequency of positive and negative returns.

This ratio is useful for evaluating portfolios that have a high degree of systematic risk, such as those invested heavily in a single industry or market.

Information Ratio: The Information Ratio measures the risk-adjusted return of a portfolio relative to a benchmark, using the tracking error (standard deviation of the difference between the portfolio's returns and the benchmark's returns) as the risk measure. A higher Information Ratio indicates better performance relative to the benchmark.

👉 5. Calmar Ratio: The Calmar Ratio is a risk-adjusted performance measure that evaluates the return of an investment strategy relative to its maximum drawdown. It is calculated by dividing the annualized return by the maximum drawdown. A higher Calmar Ratio indicates better risk-adjusted performance.
